The Queensboro Flood

Normally, when you think of a 100 year benchmark, you think of a 100 year flood. Last fall, Queensboro received a literal "flood" of shirt orders from a small town in Nigeria.

The town of Enugu celebrated their centennial in 2009, and to commemorate the occasion, like all people planning a celebration, naturally they needed shirts! Town Chief John Nwodo, who has previously conducted business in Texas, called Queensboro to order all 9,000 pieces. Needless to say, it was the biggest order Queensboro has filled during the past two decades.

The unusual request, interesting location, large dollar amount of the order, and story behind the order captured the attention of the Greater Wilmington Business Journal, who came out to Queensboro and interviewed Queensboro President Fred Meyers, and Sales Manager, Corey Creswell.

Queensboro looks forward to expanding their business to a more international clientele in 2010 and beyond. The Enugu order is a fantastic start!
